The first 500 Festival began in 2010 in a small village in Devon and now aims to being that feel to London’s shabby-chic district of Shoreditch on Saturday 6th October 2012.
Aiming to create the feel of a “giant party” founder Cat Blackwell (also Events Manager for Alexandra Palace) set out to “create an intimate event that brought together people with a love for good music, art & food & to create a sense of community.”
Not only has he released a plethora of albums worldwide, the prolific Moore has self-released over 400 cassette and CD-R albums since 1968, as well as dozens of home videos. (mostly through the ‘R. Stevie Moore Cassette Club’ home-based label)
Any event that’s big enough to be held in Berlin’s Tempelhof Airport, surely requires some noting. Participants to this annual event are generally music business-based and fly in from around the world to network, make connections, push sponsorships, discuss the international music scene and find out what’s making the German market groove.
This… is Popkomm.
The famed Reading & Leeds Festivals are this weekend, with absolutely stellar lineups.
So check this out – the new video from The Milk recorded here at Dean St Studios.
The Chelmsford boys have got a lot of attention over the last couple of years, including heavy backing from none other than Huey Morgan (of Fun Lovin’ Criminals & BBC 6 Music fame) and – as you can see from the video – Hollywood A-lister Idris Elba.
Idris’ involvement came about from the band apparently wanting to include a soundbite from one of his TV appearances on the song. Not only was he happy for them to use it, he liked the song so much that he wrote some rap lyrics for it and requested to feature on the track in person. The rest is history, and that history has been immortalised in the clip below. Enjoy the talent and the cameos from Huey, our house engineer Austen Jux-Chandler and the inimitable Ruby the Studio Dog.
